This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Craqt ("we", "us") collects when you use Craqt Academy at academy.craqt.com (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Data We Collect
- Account data — name, email address, password (stored as a hash), profile image, and role. If you enable two-factor authentication or passkeys, we store the related security credentials.
- Learning data — course enrollments, lesson and activity progress, quiz and assignment submissions, grades, reviews, and certificates earned.
- Payment data — order details (course, amount, currency, status). Card and mobile-money details are processed by our payment providers (for example Flutterwave) and never stored on our servers.
- Communications — messages you send through the contact form and emails we exchange with you.
- Optional usage data — with your permission, PostHog collects pages visited and learning events. Masked session replays help us understand navigation problems. Text, form inputs, and element attributes are masked; embedded content, images, media, code editors, and editable content are blocked. We exclude authentication, account settings, administration, payment routes, and pages with query strings or fragments from recording. We do not record console logs, network request bodies, or response bodies.
- Feedback — messages you submit include the feedback category and page context. Administrators can review and resolve them. Your contact email is shown in the feedback inbox only if you allow follow-up. If you have allowed analytics and a replay is active, the submission may include its session identifier to help investigate the issue. Feedback does not require analytics consent.
- Operational data — technical logs needed to operate and secure the Service are separate from optional product analytics.
2. How We Use Data
We use your data to: provide the Service (accounts, course access, progress tracking, grading, certificates); process payments and prevent fraud; send transactional email (verification, password reset, enrollment confirmations); respond to your messages; understand how the product is used so we can improve it; and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data.
3. Cookies
Essential cookies keep you signed in and protect your account. Optional analytics storage is enabled only after you choose Allow. You can decline or withdraw permission using Analytics preferences without affecting sign-in or learning. We remember your choice for 180 days and respect Do Not Track.
4. Sharing
We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf: payment providers (checkout and payouts), our email provider (transactional email), our hosting and database providers, and our analytics provider. Instructors can see the learning data of students enrolled in their courses (progress, submissions, grades). We may disclose data where required by law.
5. Data Retention
We keep your account data while your account is active. Learning records and order history are retained while needed to provide the Service and meet legal (including tax) obligations. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us.
6. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email info@craqt.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable data-protection law, including the Uganda Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.
7. Security
We protect data with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, role-based access controls, and least-privilege access to production systems. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you as required by law.
8. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13. If we learn we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and, for material changes, notify you by email or in-app notice.
